Baby Boomers Are Driving Cleveland Cosmetic Surgery Market
The first members of the formidable Baby Boomer generation -- 78 million strong – hit retirement age this year, and the final Boomers -- people born between 1946 and 1964 -- are charging into their late 40s and taking hold of the reins of leadership. Boomers have been defining American society since their birth and, once again, are turning American society on its head. Instead of slowing down, they’re revving up!
According to a recent ABC News poll, 42% of Boomers plan to delay retirement and 25% say they’ll never retire. For some people, it’s a financial decision; but most Boomers just aren’t ready to slow down. By the time they reach 65, the majority of Boomers will still have a couple of decades ahead of them -- and they plan to make the most of that time.
Boomers are leading active, vibrant lives. They’re working longer and looking for love again after divorce or the death of a spouse. The message Boomers are sending is that it’s never too late to enjoy life.
These are the men and women who are driving the Cleveland cosmetic surgery boom.
Last year, people between the ages of 35 and 50 accounted for 44% of all cosmetic surgery procedures; and those over 50 for 35%. Knowing they’ll be competing with younger rivals on the job and planning to remain socially active for the next few decades, Boomers are using Cleveland cosmetic surgery to stave off the wrinkles and sags that advertise their age. Determined to live life to the fullest, Boomers want a body that fits their active lifestyle and makes them look as young and vital as they feel.
