Younger Women Adding Cosmetic Surgery to Regular Beauty Routines
Cosmetic surgery has become such an accepted medical procedure in America that younger women in their 20s and 30s are making a trip to their Cleveland cosmetic surgeon’s office a regular part of their overall beauty routine. Since 1997, the number of cosmetic surgery procedures performed on women has increased 164%. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPC), women underwent nearly 8.6 million cosmetic surgery procedures last year. Of that total, nearly 2 million (roughly 20%) were requested by women aged 19 to 34.
In that 19 to 34 age group, non-surgical cosmetic procedures outnumbered surgical procedures almost 3 to 1. Young women underwent 1,370,561 non-surgical procedures compared to 470,186 surgical procedures. Injectable procedures, particularly Botox, and skin rejuvenation treatments, such as microdermabrasion and chemical peels, were the most popular cosmetic procedures chosen by younger women. Breast augmentation, liposuction and rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) led the list of surgical procedures requested by women in their 20s and early 30s.
Younger women are using Cleveland cosmetic surgery to “preserve” their youthful appearance.
Rather than wait until the aging process causes wrinkles to develop and skin to sag, women in their 20s and 30s are turning to cosmetic surgery to tweak their appearance and get rid of unsightly problems as they appear. These savvy young women are using Botox to erase early signs of wrinkle development before skin creasing can become permanent. They’re using Smart Lipo Triplex liposuction to recover their sexy, slim body shape after pregnancy. Embracing Cleveland cosmetic surgery as a regular part of their normal beauty routine, younger women view cosmetic surgery not as a “fix” to solve appearance problems but as “maintenance” to prevent appearance problems from developing.
