What does board certified mean?
All doctors receive the same basic training; but in order to practice in one of the many medical specialties, physicians complete additional training and practical experience in a specific medical area. The American Board of Medical Specialties is the arm of the American Medical Association that governs and sets standards for each of the different medical specialties.
