UPDATE - June 22, 2011: FDA Releases Updated Safety Data, Allows Silicone Breast Implants To Remain On Market
There have been reports linking breast implants with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma or ALCL. This has NOT been established. ALCL is NOT a form of breast cancer.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is working closely with the FDA to establish a breast Implant Registry to make sure this safety issue is addressed properly. At this time, the position of the ASPS and the FDA is that breast implants are safe and effective. Please refer to the following links for additional information:
