Breast reduction surgery is for patients with large breasts and/or the problems of back pain, neck pain and rashes under the breast, especially during the summer months. This procedure is aimed at reducing the size of the breasts so they are more proportional to your over-all body frame, improving your posture and fitting in your clothes better.
This type of breast augmentation surgery is done as an outpatient or overnight stay procedure under general anesthesia and drains are used in the immediate postoperative period. Breast reduction is completed by removing the excess skin and breast tissue and re-positioning the nipple-areola. Based on reports of our patients, it is one of the best decisions they have ever made, basically changing the way they live life. Some women who meet certain criteria may qualify for insurance coverage for breast reduction surgery.

Generally, gynecomastia refers to male breasts that have an abundance of fat, breast tissue and/or skin – a condition far more common than many realize. It affects an estimated 40-60 percent of the population. It may be due to several diseases, but the majority of cases are from unknown sources. Men of any age who are healthy and emotionally stable are good candidates for the procedure.
Male breast reduction surgery involves removing the extra fat and breast tissue, and on occasion, removing the excess skin. Vaser® LipoSelection™ is particularly useful in this situation because of the fibrous nature of the male breast. It allows for a more defined and thorough removal of the excess tissue, with relatively less trauma. The use of a compression garment in the immediate postoperative period will help in the recovery process.
