Non-Invasive Procedures

Our practice provides a variety of non-surgical interventions including facial rejuvenation modalities to enhance the face giving the patient a more youthful appearance. The modalities can be used separately or in combination to give the best possible results.

BOTOX® Cosmetic and soft tissue fillers: Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm™ Ultra, Juvederm™ Ultra Plus, Radiesse™Sculptra™ and Cosmoderm™/Cosmoplast™ are the injectable products available to treat the lines and wrinkles in the face.

Obagi Nu-Derm and Kinerase® skin health products enhance the appearance and texture of the skin. In addition, chemical peels and lasers for skin resurfacing are available.  Dr. Poblete uses injections of a diluted hypertonic saline to treat spider veins.

For more information about the safety of injectable fillers, visit www.injectablesafety.org.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

botoxBOTOX® Cosmetic for wrinkles is the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedure in the U.S. (American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons statistics, 2006). BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes and forehead to smooth worry lines and wrinkles, around the mouth to eliminate the lines from puckering, and in the neck to treat banding lines. This is an office treatment with no down time.  Improvements become evident two to three days after the treatment. The effects of treatment last, on the average four to five months.

Soft Tissue Fillers

Dr. Poblete will inject numbing medication prior to injecting any filler to offer the patient the ultimate comfort during the procedure. Dr. Poblete, not a nurse or assistant will perform all the injections himself. Fillers have been shown to correct facial lines, wrinkles and jowls; in the process potentially delaying the need for plastic facial surgery or cosmetic facelift surgery.

Restylane®

restylaneRestylane® is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth), and under the eyes to treat the “baggy” appearance. With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months. When used in combination with Perlane®, a thicker molecular product, can give better correction for deep naso-labial folds lasting 6 to 9 months.

Perlane®

perlanePerlane is an injectable filler used to treat deep facial lines, augment the lips and contour the cheeks and chin. Made by Q-Med, the Swedish company that produces Restylane®, Perlane contains purified hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in the body that works with collagen to keep the skin smooth and supple. It is hypoallergenic and so does not require a pre-treatment skin test. It is similar to Restylane® except it is a thicker product.  Perlane® is best used in combination with Restylane® in a “layering” technique to optimize correction of the facial folds and wrinkles.  Results typically last about 6-9 months and can be made to last even longer with a simple follow-up treatment a few weeks after the initial injection.

Juvederm Ultra™ and Juvederm Ultra Plus™

juvedermTouted as the "next generation" of facial fillers, Juvéderm™ injectable gels gently smooth wrinkles and folds around the mouth and nose and restore a youthful volume to the face. Juvéderm™ Ultra and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus use a more advanced, cross-linked formula for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles or folds in the mid- to deep dermis. Juvederm™ Ultra provides optimal treatment to obtain fuller, well-defined lips.

Treatment takes only 15 minutes with immediate results and no downtime. Results have been reported to last close to one year.

Radiesse™

radiesseRadiesse™ is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from the same minerals found in our bones, so it carries little risk of allergic reaction. Radiesse can be used on many areas of the body, including the nasolabial folds, peri-oral lines, depressed scars and oral commissures.

Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. Side effects such as swelling or bruising are minimal and should fade within a few days. Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for months to one year, although the procedure can be repeated as often as you wish.

Sculptra™

sculptraSculptra™ is a new injectable product used to counteract the loss of fat beneath the skin (a condition called lipoatrophy). Sculptra is injected into the deep dermis layer of the skin to improve the appearance of sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, indentations and wrinkles. Its main component is an alpha hyrdoxy acid that has been used for 20 years in surgical products such as dissolvable sutures. There is no need for allergy testing. Clinical trials have shown that the benefits of Sculptra treatments can last up to two years.

Cosmoderm™ & Cosmoplast™

Now, the remarkable new CosmoDerm™ and CosmoPlast™ soft-tissue fillers are made from human collagen similar to what is already in the body, eliminating the need for pre-treatment testing and reducing recovery time for fast, simple improvement in lines and wrinkles lasting approximately two to three months. It is best used in combination with the hyaluronic acid dermal facial fillers, mainly for the finer lines of the face.

Skin Care

An important component of a facial rejuvenation program is a medical grade skin heath program. Accentuate Within offers the following physician-prescribed skin health protocols:

obagiObagi Nu-Derm System actually corrects the function and health of your skin. The system transforms your skin at the cellular level, resulting in skin that looks and acts younger and healthier. Designed for easy use at home, the Nu-Derm System transforms damaged, dry or wrinkled areas into smooth, soft and well-moisturized skin in just six weeks.  Nu-Derm also strengthens your skin against day-to-day damage, reduces the appearance of blemishes and other discoloration, improves circulation, and rebuilds collagen for a fuller, younger look.

The latest addition to the Obagi® Nu Derm program is Elastiderm™, a formulation that helps the skin replenish elastin and build collagen.  It is best used to decrease wrinkles and increase firmness around the eyes.

kineraseThe Kinerase Pro+Therapy collection features zeatin which has shown to improve wrinkles, skin roughness and hyper-pigmentation. Kinerase is useful for day-to-day improvement of skin texture and appearance, for treating skin disorders such as rosacea, eczema and dermatitis, and for post-procedure skin care. Products are non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic, meaning they will not clog pores or cause an allergic reaction.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin.  Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look.

Vein Care/Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for spider veins. A special sclerosing solution is injected into the diseased vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. By the end of the treatment program, the veins are less visible on the skin surface. Sclerotherapy treatments are popular in early spring and winter months.

asaps Visit the ASAPS website for more information about spider vein treatment.
