I called around to different places to inquire about lipo and/or a tummy tuck as I wanted to get rid of my “pooch” and “love handles”. I try to eat right and exercise 3-4 times a week and couldn’t loose that area on my own, so I wanted to have it medically removed.
Accentuate Within was very informative over the phone and seemed the most personable so I decided to go there for the consultation visit. I met Donna and Dr. Poblete on my first visit and they explained the procedures that would best benefit me and all the details of the procedures. They were very sensitive to my concerns and questions and made me feel at ease the whole time during my first visit.
I didn’t want to get a tummy tuck as I was very worried about how big the scar would be. I just wanted to get lipo so I wouldn’t have any new scars. Dr. Poblete informed me that getting a “tummy tuck” along with lipo would give me the best results. I decided not to get the tummy tuck, just lipo and Dr. Poblete was fine with that, he just informed me that I would have better results with both procedures.
I set up an appointment for my second visit which was about 3 months later and was having second thoughts about just getting the lipo. I wanted to get what was going to make me look the best. I also had concerns of the cost as two procedures were a bit more expensive than one, but in the long run if I wanted the second procedure it would’ve almost cost me double than if I would’ve gotten it at the same time as the first procedure.
I decided to think on it for a couple of weeks and made a third appointment. Donna and Dr. Poblete were very patient and didn’t try to sway me either way; they just answered my questions honestly. I know I was driving them crazy with my phone calls and questions, but they were very professional and caring to my needs. They were also very accommodating to my appointment times as I needed to come during my lunch hour at work.
After the third appointment I decided on both procedures (VASER®-assisted mini abdominoplasty and VASER® of my flanks – (mini tummy tuck with lipo and lipo to my love handles)). I am so glad that I did!!! :) Dr. Poblete and Donna were right on the money.... they know what they are talking about and which procedures would best benefit the individual!!
The day of surgery, I was sooo very nervous, but I knew I was in good hands with Dr. Poblete as I had came to trust and believe in him on just the few visits that I had with him. He came into the room before surgery and marked all the areas with a marker that needed treated and then said he would see me afterwards. He kept his word as I was in the recovery room he came in to see and check up on me. I won’t lie; I was in a little discomfort, but not a lot. The hospital staff was also outstanding!! Very caring and there to help every moment I needed them. I was only in the recovery room for about 30-40 minutes and then moved to post-op. I was only there for maybe 2 hours max. You only have to stay until you can urinate and I think I did 5 times before I left!! :) The hospital gave me instructions on going home, which Donna had already informed me about on my third visit, so I was already prepared and knew what to do.
The day after surgery I had an appointment with Dr. Poblete and Donna to check all the bandages and to get my garment. It was a slow walk to and from the car, but nothing unbearable. The garment was nice as it gave me a feeling of stability and security. They both were still so very caring and excited for me which made me feel good about my decision. Plus looking in the mirror in the doctors office was awesome as I seen an immediate result that I never thought I was going to get rid of, my love handles were gone and so was my pooch!!! It was such a wonderful feeling that day and both of them helped me accomplish it!!
I came back to see Dr. Poblete and Donna once a week for the first 3 weeks and then again after 8 weeks and then again after 3 months. I am very happy with the results including the scar as it isn’t bad at all. I think my c-section scar was way worse. I appreciated the extra time and question answering that they took with me; it made me feel special and important. If I were asked if I would do it again, I would say absolutely in a heart beat! :)
